Shurayḥ ibn al-Ḥārith (شريح ابن الحارث) ibn Qays ibn al-Jahm al-Kindî īd. June 697/~80 Hijri) was a tābi‘ ( singular of Tabi'un ) who converted to Islam in Yemen during the lifetime of Muhammad though he never met him. During the reign of Abū Bakr al-Ṣiddīq, he relocated to in Iraq. He served as a judge. He was the person who issues fatwa of killing of Husayn ibn Ali. In detailed Fatwa, Qazi Shuraih Said, "Husayn was spreading mutiny on the issue of Guardianship and Caliphate the punishment for the murder was beheading, so the punishment for Mutiny was also beheading. Thus it was permissible to Kill Husayn."
Following him up to 18000 Muslims Scholars issued the Fatwa to Kill Husayn.
Signatures were being extracted from all the supposed scholars and influential men, Qazi Shuraih too signed it.
This Fatwa was flaunted by Omar Bin Saad to his army and later Yazid and his Supporters took refuge in it.
